What is Jazz Disk Bench?
A storage benchmarking app for iOS, Android, Windows and macOS. It measures sequential and 4 KiB random read/write speed and offers stress testing for longer write workloads.
Can I compare 512 GB with 256 GB?
Yes. Each side of the comparison is a complete Model and capacity entry. Choose any two entries, including two capacities of the same Model. Open the comparison tool.
Why is my result different from the website?
The website shows an average of recorded measurements for a particular Model, capacity and platform. Your test can differ because of available space, temperature, background activity and operating-system behaviour. Check the selected capacity, sample count and latest date before comparing.
How do I contribute a result?
Leave Submit Results enabled and run a complete test with the default parameters on internal storage in an eligible physical-device release build. Custom-directory tests, incomplete tests and tests with a cache warning are not submitted. See contribution rules.
Why has my new result not appeared yet?
The API and website use caches. Allow about 25 minutes for a new measurement to appear on the website during normal operation. A new run contributes to its configuration's mean, so it does not appear as a separate row. How updates work.
Does the sample count mean different devices?
No. It counts recorded test runs. The same device can contribute multiple runs. Duplicate retries of the same run are counted once by the new submission service.
Why does the website use MiB/s?
The stored rates use mebibytes per second. Some app interfaces label these values MB/s. The website displays the same numbers as MiB/s to make the binary unit explicit. For a 4 KiB workload, multiply MiB/s by 256 to get IOPS.
Can I test external storage?
The app supports custom storage locations where the platform grants access. These results remain useful locally but are not contributed to the public internal-storage results database.
Does the benchmark access personal files?
Tests create temporary benchmark files and do not read the contents of your personal files. Contributed measurements do not include folder paths, names, accounts or permanent device identifiers. Read the privacy policy.
